Audiobook Production FAQs

 

  • Yes, you own 100% of the audiobook copyright. We typically require a 50% deposit to lock in your project and get started. The remaining balance will be due as we near completion.

  • Yes, to publish your audiobook on Audible, your book must already be listed on Amazon.

    This is because Audible, Amazon, and iTunes are connected through ACX, and they require your audiobook to be linked to an existing Kindle or print edition on Amazon.

    However, If your book isn’t on Amazon yet, we can still distribute your audiobook to many platforms like Spotify, Apple Books, and libraries through Findaway Voices.

  • With ACX exclusive, your audiobook is only available on Amazon, Audible, and iTunes, but you earn a 40% royalty. This works best if you’re focused on Audible sales and don’t need wider distribution.

    With ACX non-exclusive, you earn a 25% royalty, but can distribute to platforms like Spotify, Google Play, and libraries via Findaway Voices. Payments for ACX sales go through Amazon, while Findaway Voices offers PayPal or direct deposit.

    If you want higher royalties, choose exclusive. If you prefer wider reach, go non-exclusive. We can help you decide based on your goals!

  • Absolutely! You have full control over the voice that brings your story to life. Let us know the style you’re looking for, and we’ll find the perfect match. This process typically takes 3–5 business days, during which we narrow down options, provide samples, and finalize your choice.

    You have three options:


    ✅ Record from home using our Your Voice Audiobook System for a professional DIY approach.


    ✅ Choose one of our narrators: Send us your manuscript, and we’ll handle everything from recording to production.


    ✅ Bring your own narrator: We’ll coordinate, manage, produce, and distribute your audiobook.

    We’re here to make the process easy, no matter which option you choose!

  • Your royalty payments depend on whether you chose ACX exclusive, non-exclusive, or wide distribution:

    • ACX Exclusive & Non-Exclusive: Payments are processed through your Amazon account.

    • Findaway Voices & Other Distributors: Royalties can be sent via PayPal or direct deposit.

    We’ll guide you through the best setup to ensure smooth payments.
